Become an Artist by Learning to Draw ~ let us know if you would like to attend this class in the future
Talented local artist, Natasha Clarke will teach the fundamental skills of how to draw, starting with simple still life studies. You will learn the rules of drawing and gather all the skills that are required of a good artist so that you can then practice and be able to draw whatever you see.
This series of three classes will cover all the basic principles of being able to draw and you will end this course knowing how to master:
Composition - the placement or an arrangement of visual elements (line, color, shape, value, space, and form) in a work of art to bring the elements into a satisfactory relationship.
Proportions - The comparative relation of size between all the objects in your scene.
Perspective - The art of representing three-dimensional objects on a two-dimensional surface, how basic shapes ( squares, circles, etc... ) behave on perspective and how to keep proportions.
Lighting - Lightness or darkness expressed with values of the grayscale to create the illusion of light, trace properly casted shadows, reveal the volumes and set an expressive mood.
Edges - A way to split silhouettes and shapes of the objects in your scene to ease the reading of the picture and increase feeling of depth.
At the end of this series of classes you will come away with a beginning portfolio full of your work sketches, with at least one completed drawing showcasing your skills and style.
