Babes in the Canyon at Miller's Carnation

Eloquently blending big-pine folk, indie-pop, and sweet vocal harmonies, Babes in Canyon crafts music that is eminently engaging and very much of the moment. Born of a spontaneous writing session during a blackout, their debut EP Second Cities unfolds with an easy grace that belies the relative newness of the endeavor. Nuanced, expertly arranged, yet profoundly catchy, Babes in Canyon stands ready to soundtrack your adventures (spontaneous or otherwise).

Terra Nobody is an up-and-coming, black female-fronted, experimental Alt-Rock/Art-Pop band from Seattle, WA. Prior to becoming full time musicians, band leaders Ali and Brett quit their day jobs and traveled to over 20 countries, pulling inspiration from genres around the world. Terra Nobody is carving out its own unique, sonic space in the industry that is bursting with truth, catharsis, and innovation. Some of their biggest influences include Massive Attack, Paramore, Björk, Aurora, Mother Mother, Son Lux, Everything Everything, and Woodkid.

Andrew Duhon at Miller's Carnation

Andrew Duhon at Miller’s Friday June 23rd. A must-see! Some tickets still available!! Link in bio or www.millerscarnation.com “Another world-class voice is heard from Louisiana, another soulful, mesmerizing singer who writes emotional songs with impact and heart. Andrew Duhon is a troubadour for the next generation, a story-teller for his generation. Measured in the blues with the gift of narrative, Andrew¹s songs will not only make you think, they will make you sing along, days later. This a young artist to watch, and to hear, as soon as you can find a way.” Andrew Duhon is a songwriter from New Orleans, a teller of stories with an undeniable voice, weighted and soulful. Duhon has released 3 recordings, the latest of which, ‘The Moorings’, was nominated for a Grammy in 2014 for ‘Best Engineered Album’. He has toured solo for much of his career, and that troubadour element is certainly present, an usher of modern-day folklore.

Duhon is “a teller of stories with an undeniable voice, weighted and soulful.” –KPCW/NPR

No Depression calls the album “effortless,” noting “Duhon reminds us that everything comes in its time: adventure, loneliness, tragedy and — yes, even if it’s fleeting — contentment.”
